all your doing is adding more ujs and not really allowing a wider angle of articulation?? Wiltshire Landyman.......am bit confused by your answer? My understanding of UJs is they allow a change of direction for the force/rotation, how can adding an extra one not give extra articulation....I...

TD4 fuel return from injector pump

Just looked at a well put together explaination of the job and the pump - see index This guys shows doing it the same way as I did but I guess that's down to personal preference and how much skin you want to remove from you knuckles.

TD4 fuel return from injector pump

You must have spindly fingers my friend? 4 Hours??? I assume you are simply removing the engine mount, jacking it up, using the crank sproket tool and removing it that way? I have said that this was something i normally would ask the garage to do and am not the fastest but I really cannot see...

TD4 fuel return from injector pump

That's a really good deal, I paid £225 + vat for a recon HP Pump with 1 yr warranty, bought the fitting tool for £30 inc vat and spent a happy 10-15 hours, after cutting the fuel pipes that wouldn't come off - extra £32 for speedy delivery direct from LR. He's running like a beast now though...

    Reluctant Starter

Mine also has a somewhat bodge fitted snorkel, courtesy of it's previoous owner!! That's one of many little 'gifts' I've found as I progress round trying to get it to work as ir was intended, rather than how his pliers and insulation tape made it. I guess that a new air filter and making the...

    Reluctant Starter

I have an ex military 2.5 N/A and mine suffers similar issues. I have changed the battery, which helps it somewhat but my thoughts are moving towards valve stem seals. From what i understand (limited by my own admission) but the stem seals stop oil seeping into the combustion chamber. If oil is...

TD4 fuel return from injector pump

Thanks for the help, it seems the High Pressure Fuel Pump has sprung a leak. I took the approach that 'having a little llok can't do any harm'. i stripped off the inlet manifold after loosening one of the fuel lines and getting a reasonable amount of fuel come out. i turned the engine over for a...

    Problems with fuel consumption

just a quick check to see if you haven't got the same problem i am wrestling with. My fuel consumption dropped off, gradually at first but eventually stopped the engine running. The problem is that i have a failing gasket on my high pressure fuel pump (the one under the oil filter). The initial...

    TD4 Fuel Problem

I feel i ought to add that all the kit said there was no problem with high pressure pump or fuelling system - wrong! I'll drop the codes on here shortly and see if anyone else can help with clues from similar codes - so i understand what the ECU thinks is occurring. I suspect it knows too much...

    TD4 Fuel Problem

Fwiw i'm having issues with High Pressure Fuel pump on my TD4. It came up with a 'main dealer only' code when i had a specialist plug in. Upon further inspection, found that diesel was leaking from one of the gaskets on the HPFP and squirted diesel around the lower part of the engine. My point...
