Yes......turned out to be the fuel pump. The way I checked was to take out rear mat, undo the plate, undo the two fuel pipes, careful to replace them the correct way round again, one is in and one is out. Then took a screw driver and hammer to the big round cap that holds the top on. Take out...

So I have it in bits, the motor on the pump is working, I get good suction on the hole on the bottom when I put my finger on it, but rather than the fuel coming up the pipe, it is coming out of a small hole about the size of a match to the side of the connection for the out pipe. Any clues?

Thanks for that, I shall give that a go in the morning, if the cable is long enough to allow me to put it into a container :-) Will let you know, but guessing if it is not doing this in the tank then the result may be the same. Regards. Rick

Further to my previous thread......it seems that I am not getting any fuel through. Awaiting delivery of new filter, but today set about looking at the pump. It does make a sound when turning on ignition, I took off the fuel pipe (feed out not feed in) and when trying to turn over nothing is...

So have got a fuel filter on order, should be here in the morning, but am now doubting that this is the issue. Looked at the top of the pump today, still getting a noise from the pump when initially turning ignition key, but, took off pipe (pipe out not pipe in) and nothing is coming through...

So that buzz is the fuel sender, thanks for that. It makes a sound but just for a few seconds when I turn the key to number 2 on the ignition. I have just had a look but think I am going to have to try with a bit more vigour as the pump seems unmovable at the moment and I do not have the...

That and the fuel pump was going to be my next step, but I am no mechanic. I do hear a buzz for a few seconds coming from the pump area when I turn on the ignition, but whether that means it is working fully I do not know. I did check the electrical points and see power getting through though...
