Morning!
Agree with the others - very useful post, thanks for spending the time to write.
I am thinking of selling my 2013 defender 110 which I adore but its just worth too much and not getting the use. However i do like have a utilitarian vehicle in my life for camping, moving stuff, logs etc...

HI, assume unlikely given the date but is this still for sale?
I am on hunt for a disco 3

Ok Thanks for both of your advise.
I don't fancy the grief or rebuilding so will go down the cheapo calliper route. Can easily replace them again in 5years time.
And yes stainless loves reacting with steel in salt damp conditions...:-)

My pins holding the pads in are solid bars (approx. 8cm long) with split pin going through the ends.
Sounds like I should invest in some calipers - does it matter which make? £40 ones ok?
cheers

Thanks for your response,
Sorry what is iirc? anyway, currently the forward brake pipe out of brake master drops down (on the right) and forward to a T where it splits to both front brakes.
Again sorry what is a "lockheed long split pin type?"
cheers

oh one other option is to but later axles front and rear (thus I can fit alloys with out spacers - which look great but cover the side of the car with mud!)

Hi Guys,
I hope you can help!
I have just rebuilt a defender 110 (1987) with single discs on the front and drums on the back. My issue is that the rears lock up first and so are working well. Fronts are not so good but will also lock up if I push really hard. Just put new pads on the...

Also I do have one wipe (press down)but just working sometimes - after pressing and wiggling the switch it worked so can only assume loose...

Correct! except mine is an older landy so dont have intermitant. (the push down for one wipe doesnt work).
So i need to get in phase by 180degrees as per DerekT post..?

Hi Chaps,
I am rebuilding my 110 CSW and I would appreciate thoughts on the order of tightening up all the bolts for the the bodywork. Basically i have the whole car assembled (no doors on yet) with all mounting bolts in but still loose. What would be the best order to tight it all up to help...

Ok thanks for your replies. So i need a new switch, even though the actual switch works, just its stopping in the wrong position.?
I am not familliar with how these work, but was wondering if maybe it was a set up issue rather than faulty switch. Ie.e how does the switch know the position of...

HI Chaps,

sorry i might be being a girl here...
the side holes are tapped (m6 i think) which i can plug to protect. the holes the arrow is meant to point to is for the door hinge bolts. Now these holes are un tapped (i,e there is a nut to go on the side you can see). This hole which is about 40mm deep...

see attached pic describing the part i mean, from what i can gather its is all part of the B pillar upright (must be pressed in during manufacturing).
Inside the wholes are 2 bolt liners of unknown material...
-
The bit i mean is inside the B pillar frame is peice with 2 holes that the door bolts go through, in this is a liner that the bolts go through - i think it is plastic but not sure. there is movement in these liners.
Might be best for me post a pic.
One final point to T wash - should i...
