Only for the simple reason of I happen to have a 4.6 kicking around that’s done nothing.. but I think for simplicity I might just try and get the lot out of a D1.. 3.9 will be lively enough for what I want out of it..

Is it possible? I’m kind of hoping Rover being Rover the bellhousing is the same across them all so a D1 v8 auto box would fit to a 4.6 v8 from a p38 RR.
Going into a defender project want to keep it all LR st-and are parts as far as possible.

So it's been a while and in amongst seemingly a million other projects... we've made progress...
Both sills are now replaced with box section complete with heavy duty mounts.. the rear has gone today :)
I've also been pondering the option of building my own body.. then was hit by a brain wave...

So night work didn't happen this week thanks to real work and a set back with the d2 daily drive needing an injector harness..
so cracked the whip this morning and got my mounts made..
And got my n/s sill welded in..
and mounts mounted..
Tomorrow's job is to cut the front inner wing...

I have for sale a pair of D2 facelift headlights.
Bought them as I thought mine had a problem.. turned out it was a problem with a seal so these ones are surplus now..

Ok so plans had to change a little, having starting to look at the structural integrity of the shell we find it's had an even harder life than first thought, the passenger floor has rotted beyond patching and both he inner and outer sills on the passenger side are dead and have been plated over...

looking for the oil cooler take off for a r380..
I think they were fitted to the p38 manuals?

has anyone ever encountered a r380 that had difficulties selecting any of the top row? 1st, 3rd and 5th are all hard to get.. thought I'd ask before I strip it to see what's in there..

Well you were bang on Gazbo.. the Cardon joint was what was causing the squeak..
