    Is it possible? I’m kind of hoping Rover being Rover the bellhousing is the same across them all so a D1 v8 auto box would fit to a 4.6 v8 from a p38 RR. Going into a defender project want to keep it all LR st-and are parts as far as possible.

    So night work didn't happen this week thanks to real work and a set back with the d2 daily drive needing an injector harness.. so cracked the whip this morning and got my mounts made.. And got my n/s sill welded in.. and mounts mounted.. Tomorrow's job is to cut the front inner wing...

    We use the std "pull" clutch fork system but knock those pesky roll pins known to sheer out and replace with stainless high tensile bolts.. are they what you refer to?

    Cheers it's the p38 one I need tho when I say it's going in a discovery it's going in a discovery chassis with a 6 potter BMW diesel upfront p38 ish hybrid if you will lol m57 is the successor to the m51 of the p38 so bolts straight up to a p38 bellhousing clutch and input shaft.. ta guys

    Will do.. I think it was originally a tdi 300 box.. for some reason some arse has gas axed through the bellhousing and input shaft.. but if all else fails it's a cheap transfer box lol.. hoping it will take the p38 input so I can get on a bit with some running gear work while my bodywork ticks...
