1991 Defender help/advice needed. Future restoration thread?

:) My bolts don't look too new so I'll mostly likely be fighting with them. The videos I watched they all placed a big hammer on one side & hit the other with another hammer, like using it as an anvil? Did you replace the locking bolts & locking pins when doing yours & if so, where did you...

Defender 90 / truck cab rear end nut & bolt advice needed

I'm looking to replace the nuts, bolts & washers that hold the rear drop down tailgate on my defender 90 truck cab, & also the ones that attach to the rear crossmember. Re: Tailgate - Were these originally 10mm (M6) bolts, & do the bolts have washers on every bolt on the outer section where...

1991 Defender help/advice needed. Future restoration thread?

Thanks for that, I really appreciate it. :-) I'll be doing the work myself as I have watched a few videos on how to do those track rod ends & they seem quite easy to do, then I'll book in for a 4 wheel track, or would it only need the 2 wheel track when doing the front track rod ends?

1991 Defender help/advice needed. Future restoration thread?

I'm sorry about the ridiculously long post, I've cut it down now with a new title. I'm in W.Yorkshire. I have since taken it to the garage regarding the aforementioned issues. Hopefully it just needs 2 ball joints/track rod ends? (apparently they are seriously gone & he advised it gets fixed...

1991 Defender help/advice needed. Future restoration thread?

Hello all, this is my first thread so go easy on me :-) I'll add as much information here. I have just purchased a 1991 (H plate) Defender 90 2.5 n/a diesel pickup (135k) from eBay & would really appreciate some help from you all. Re: Fuel gauge; I looked up on this & found out that it's...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild

The interior looks really nice, I think the original black interior is the best. I hope to get the same but with the third seat. Re: your new grill & headlight plates; I think it may have been done to differentiate between each part. I checked some defenders grills/HL plates & most of them have...

    James' 90 Project

A really good job. It'll look even better with the truck cab. What's next on the agenda? :-)

how much it this really worth?

I suppose it depends on where you sell it. I'm guessing it'd reach £1900-2300 on eBay. I saw an ex military 110 with low mileage not even selling for a buy it now price of around £1900.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild

I'm sorry if I sounded a bit brash at first, the work you did on the panels & axles etc were top notch. You should have a data sheet with your paints that'll give you that information. Most can be applied by spray gun, roller & brush but obviously check the data sheet. I've brush/rolled all...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild

Don't get me wrong you have done a very good job, there were just some missed bits here & there on the chassis. I only said obvious as I'm a painter myself & I suppose I just knew where to look, hard to reach areas etc. Go round beforehand with the gun on lower settings (or roller/brush) & just...

Thinking of buying a rear pto for my defender 110 advice needed

That's not helping him get to the root of his problem.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild

Hello, I'm new here & I'm in the process of looking for a LR90/early defender 90 that, given what I have to spend, may need much more work than you've needed to do on this. This thread has been really helpful as it has given me an idea of what things should look like etc, & it has given me more...
