thanks for the replies, the intercooler is behind the radiator and given that water flows through the radiator (from the hosepipe) top to bottom and runs very clear I'd assume it wasn't clogged ?

any help appreciated, as going on holiday next week and need to get this fixed... just had an allisport intercooler fitted and its begun to overheat, flushed the system and changed the thermostat...doesn't do it in traffic, but after about 15 mins cruising at 80ish on motorway, using the heater...
