I got one for my 1998 4.0 from BM Catalysts. Make sure you check the length measured flange to flange in a straight line, because some suppliers they are about 20mm shorter...
If the switchpack has a short, or the 12V feed has high resistance, then you will see 12V with it unplugged, but it could drop when plugged in. A 5W bulb is a good test if you cannot access the rear of the plug.
Remember it could also be a...
No polint measuring with the plug disconnected.
If you look at the diagram in RAVE, and check either the BECM SID or Nanocom BECM documents, you will find the wire functions.
You cannot measure pins 2, 3 & 4 correctly with a multimeter...
If you watch this video, it shows how the Nanocom can properly diagnose your issues. Windows & Mirrors demo is at 1:36 into the video. At 2:54 it shows the outputs menu which can test the BECM to door outputs.
If you were anywhere near me, I...
Fuse-1 feeds lots of things. With the fuse removed the contacts will always have 12V on one side & 0V on the other.
Fault finding the window switch pack needs the fuse installed, or it cannot work !!
Ordered a Nanocom yet ??
The RAVE procedure is less than ideal because it does not mention the Jatco Fluid Level plug or how to top-up correctly.
1. After draining old fluid, refit the drain plug.
2. Remove the Level Plug - see picture & make absolutely sure you remove...
Try uplugging & cleaning the two round electrical plugs at the top front of the gearbox. Did you do the fluid at correct temperature & engine running ?
Assuming the Nanocom is reading the ECU correctly, then surely "right side airbag" is the one in side of the seat back ? Hence the connector under the seat, not the steering wheel clockspring..
If the motor runs, but doesn't unlock there's probably stripped gears inside. Most P38 latches suffer failing microswitches, but the motors do fail - mainly the brushes.
I have repaired some of mine. There's about 6 or 7 screws holding...
Take the spark plugs out (distributor cap seems to be missing ??). Then crank it on the starter motor & check the oil pressure and get the oil circulated where required.
Then I would put sparkies in & get it to fire up & idel before revving it up.
From that graph, it appears that Bank-A is the bad one, however the Nanocom recording you share indicates Bank-B is not swinging through the correct range. This why we suggested swapping them over & cleaning the connector contacts.
They should...
The O2 sensor data looks wrong. They should be switching at similar rates, so maybe it's time to put new ones in ? All the other charts appear ok to me, but it's dificult to tell from the pictures.
As I said before it's generally not...
Nanocom also shows BECM inputs including the window switches. That together with the ability to activate outputs to test the windows & locks means you can nail down where the fault is.
Not usually. Two Cats feed a single centre box, that then splits to two rear boxes. But saying that my MOT guy did find differences in the two tailpipe emissions !! Even he agreed it didn't make sense.
GEMS definitely has separate trims for each bank. Don't know about Thor. The pics above do show trim values, but the recording Pete12345 sent shows zeros ?? Also Nanocom is labelling them as Downstream when it should show Upstream Trims...
