When I eventually get my compressor replaced on the green P38, I will be using a regular garage refill. Cheaper than 4 cans for the P38 1200g requirement !!

If you add your location (town name, not post code), there might be someone nearby who can read & clear codes for you. FYI My i930 is up in Milton Keynes at the moment, but I also have Delphi CDP, plus various other stuff available.

The only real difference is the wiring external to the HEVAC to the various engine ECU types. They all go to pins 13 & 14 on the HEVAC. Fusebox & condenser fan relays are also different, but again same pins on HEVAC. I suspect the LS1 guy...

If you have gauge set & vacuum pump, then IMHO best thing to do first is to pull a vacuum & see if it holds. Finding leaks at home is harder, as it should be done with nitrogen. UV torch "might" show previous leaks, but only if the system has...

Correct, all HEVAC are the same except the compressor drive output. Looked earlier today, and Storey's site seems to show all modules, except the Diesel & SRS. The videos show an earlier version with less ECU's.

You need four blobs of RTV where the heads join the block. See step 25. Also make sure the two rubber seals are good fit, and that the metal clamps are not bent out of shape.

There's specific points on the valley gasket at front & back around the coolant holes in the heads that need sealant. Also make sure the seals at front & back are new & trimed properly plus add a smal blob of RTV on re-assembly. While you have...

Sounds like you might have two problems, i.e. stripped gears on the odometer, and the cable needs some lubrication ?

+1 on this. If the pressure swtich is open due to low R134, when the ambient rises & the HEVAC tries to engage the compressor it assumes the clutch is not engaging. Mine after dash out to sort the matrix & distribution motor has not had any...

Keith, I got two trim bits off eBay for mine, and used a Pioneer DAB+ unit. (they were definitely a lot cheaper when I bought them a few years ago) Works really well, and I think it looks ok. Screen colour set to green only, rather than the...

I've had plenty of pads that don't quite fit right. Usually it's a case of filing the metal backing slightly at top & bottom so they slot in properly.

Google "alpine radio repair". There seems to be quite a few places that do repairs, even on old models.. https://www.alpine.co.uk/info/contactsworldwide00.html http://revivecaraudio.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/OldSchoolAlpineRepairEurope/

We used to have the same problem, until I bought a set of long "aviation" spanners. Problem was we could not move the tensioner through its full range with standard spanner due to the angled head. These work every time and are easier to pull...

You best open up the ECU's you have and check if they have the EPROM in a socket or soldered to the PCB. Plug & Play is not quite true, unless they have also disabled the security code exchange with the BECM. This is generally used when...

Put the push rods & rockers on, all spark plugs out, and then try turning over. That way you can check the oil is circulating & lubricating the cam, tappets, rockers, etc. Adn STOP trying to do it early !!

There are "aftermarket" cruise systems out there, but you would need one that uses a cable on the throttle, not one that connects to an electronic throttle.

Does the iCarsoft read all the settings, etc ? If it does then grounding must be ok, or it would not communicate.

Just found a garage that stocks it near parent's house in Ferndown. Might bring the Blue P38 next week & put some in, just to see if it still works !! No use long term, because both parents gone & house to be sold soon.

It was in the car when I bought it. Prins multi-point system. Apart from re-installing after the engine rebuild, the only thing I have do is improve the coolant pipe run layouts where they tee off to the vaporiser.

Check what wiring mods have been done so you know the reason. If you have spare GEMS ECU, then step-1 is to check if iCarsoft V2 can do the re-learn. If so open the ECU up & look for bodges. If they look standard then try them. No need to...
