Chassis Cleaning, Protection and Body Corrosion

The panels do yes, but there wasn't any on my chassis, I thought Chassis were just painted.

Chassis Cleaning, Protection and Body Corrosion

I think it all comes down to how much you want to spend. I just rebuilt my boot floor and I just wire brushed the Chassis and gave it a good coat of Hammerite and a coat of Tetraseal Undercoat, more protection than it had when it left the factory. There are drain holes in the lower curved...

    Discovery Boot Floor Rebuild

Cheers! It might, but then its not going to cost me anything to sort out because I'll send the flexihose back and get it replaced. :)

Rear anti-roll bar, think I've bent it!

I agree, just remove it, if it ain't fitted he can't test it!

    Discovery Boot Floor Rebuild

Finally finished the boot floor! :D Pics show the angle iron welded in to form the lip for the floor panel along the line of the rear seats. You remember I had to drill out all the seat bolts, well I found a very simple method of solving this little problem, instead of either drilling and...

    Disco 1 or 2

As has already been said, My choice would be a half decent 300tdi, plenty to choose from on Ebay, but take someone who knows what they're looking at. You should get something half decent for 1k then spend the rest on fixing it up, that way you'll know its right and you'll get to know it...

    Discovery Boot Floor Rebuild

Quick update, I've welded in the off side skirt panel, but haven't taken any pics yet. I called into a local Engineering shop to see if they could bend a piece of sheet metal into a dog leg for me to use along the frount edge of the boot where the rear seats bolt in. Needless to say they were...

MOT fail - lots of welding - advice please!

Sounds worse than it is I think. You won't have to remove the body from the chassis, it just needs a bit of welding in the usual places, wheel arches and sills around the body mounts. As someone has already asked, what is the boot floor like?

    Clutch Slippage

No, it does it in all gears, its just more noticeable in 3rd.

    Clutch Slippage

I understand that, I guess I'm just peed off that as a result of them selling me a Faulty clutch, I have to pay labour costs again to get it replaced..

    Clutch Slippage

I would normally agree, but if they admit that the clutch was faulty when purchased, ie a manufacturing or materials fault then, surely they should be liable for any costs incurred as a result. I'm not going to pursue this but was just wondering how others might see it.

    Clutch Slippage

I have to agree, it does seem like I've been really unlucky and ended up with a faulty or weak Pressure Plate. Its all very well them replacing it under warranty, but its going to cost me £240 to get it changed, which I can't help feeling they should pay! The other option is I do it myself but...

    Discovery Boot Floor Rebuild

Nice job, I can see a lot of welding there! I ran out of paint yesterday hence why it stops where it does. :D http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/clutch-slippage-201218.html Have a look here, the decision I have to make is do I pull it out myself or part with £240 for my local mechanic to do...

    Discovery Boot Floor Rebuild

Cheers, I'm quite please with it so far. The rear body mounts are fine, but I need to do both sills and sill ends, but they'll have to wait until next month as I'm under strict instructions not to dip into the savings! I'll do the sills and fit a set of Rock Sliders, then I'll decide...
