I tried this and it didnt work, it still leaked past the o-rings, it a bitch of a job, i would reccommend just replacing as it is a pain in the arse to change, and to do it twice is even worse, be quick also, I left mine and it took out the starter motor as well, all the diesel was dripping on it

sorted it, it was a tyre problem, had new tyres put on and the pulling is gone:)

Ive had a long time problem with my steering, first it was pulling to the left, had the tracking done and it was fine for 4 weeks, took it back and the drop arm ball joint had play in it, fitted a new one and had the tracking redone, all fine then for another 4 weeks, then car starts pulling to...

They were sticking as 1 pad had about 5mm left and the other had 15mmm left. 1 of the guide pins was jamming which I thought was the problem, so i regreased both and swapped them round and they were nice and smooth then in and out no problem

where can I get a testbook from? do I also need the nanocom lead???? :rolleyes:

Not sure, have not used it since last year, will have to try it out. I have only had this problem since draining the water coolant and refilling so thought it must be related....posibly a sensor gone etc...:rolleyes:

where would you suggest i get stainless steel piston kits from? cant seem to find them for the TD5?:rolleyes:

YES!!!:p Heater/aircon unit is switched off, it runs from when the engine is started until the engine is shut off, its only started to do this since replacing the coolant:confused:

cheers guys, the pistons are all still shiny and smooth, I have read somewhere that one brake sticking can be the master cylinder too?, just dont want to fork out £70 for a caliper and then find its the master thats all. so you would recommend a new caliper?

:D no, ive not added an electric fan, and I know the viscous fan runs all the time, the fan I refer to is at the front on the first radiator, behind the grill. It runs all the time the engine is running ever since i drained and refilled the cooling system.

thougt I had a trackong problem as the car would pull to the left slighty....noticed when braking that the steering would then be straight, i assumed the brake was stuck on. Took the caliper off and sprayed WD40 under the seals and worked the pistons in/out a few times, they seemed to have got...

I never told him about the 2nd and 3rd gear problems before as I thought i was getting a recon box, surely they would change all the syncros for a recon box anyhow?

I had the gearbox go last year returning from holiday, pulling off the slip road 4th-5th then BANG, no drive but had 4th so drove to next services, I sent the TD5 for a recon box to be fitted, after paying out £900 + a new clutch, looked underneath and no new clean box (just a new bolt on piece...
