Yes, less threads showing gives more boost. Also I got 110, decat, straight through middle box. Noise is just right for me, I take the family on hols in it too, and don’t think it’s that much extra noise, but I do love to hear the whistling turbo. I have got disco tb though which helps.

Yup, tighten til it stops then back off, some suggest backing off further though I stick with 1 1/4 turns.

If you have access to nanocom, then post a few plots... it won’t help with fuel pressure as there is no fuel pressure sensor, but you can see if it’s a boost issue - you might just be hitting overboost at high load.

That is strange, maybe somebody’s idea of a tuning by restricting the boost air to the wastegate. Maybe a good idea to drop a gauge in to check boost pressure, or do as is generally advised and shorten wastegate 1 turn every few days until boost limit is hit (as you’ve had before) then back off...

I had same issue this year (with TD5), but I don't think that limit is correct though. I'd remove boost pin, but I don't think CAT will help as its just a smoke opacity test. Make sure its nice and hot when you take it for retest. I'd go for the injector cleaner in the tank and then an Italian...

Have you checked intercooler and hoses for leaks/ delamination? Cleaned MAP inside and out? If you’re not hitting the boost limit, try shortening the actuator rod a turn or too. Be good to get a gauge plumbed on the inlet manifold. I have opposite problem
