My series 3's engine is having an identity crisis(or I've just gone completely thick) For the year(1973) should it be a 3 bearing in duck egg blue with a lucas distributor? Mine has a Deucellier Distributor and a red oxide coloured block (but the oil filler is a pipe, not in the rocker cover)...

Have you replaced the shoes? If so did you fit one (or all) of the return springs right, the leading shoe needs to float and should only be attached by a spring at the bottom. Had this trouble on my series 3

why will my series 3 not go into reverse? any ideas p.s my rear damper exploded is this normal?
