And the winner is........ Knackered front UJ. Only one bearing had gone, so quite lucky really. Gonna replace all 4 today, just to be on the safe side! Thanks for the replies.

Hi, after a day out playing on Salisbury Plain my Defender 90 300tdi has developed a squeak when it's under load. Any ideas? 'Cos it's driving me mad! Cheers. Steve.

Bearing size. / number is 6302 btw!

Gotta love these Defenders. Changed the bearing, started it up only to be greeted with the same Fkn squeak! I put a thin packing piece ( about half the thickness of a penny ) behind the tensioner & voila squeak is now history! Thanks for the replies!

Use some JB weld, fill the hole / gouge and then smooth it off with some wet and dry. Will defo work!

Hi, still fixing things after the last visit to Piccadilly woods. Had to dismantle the starter & clean it all out, full of mud etc, changed the exhaust down pipe , the slight blow didn't self cure.... The tensioner started squeaking half way through the day & I think the bearing has gone. Does...

Hi, I've bought a Tiger Shark winch for my defender 90, got a new winch and bumper on ebay for £320 which seems like a bargain. I've fitted it on but need to extend the wiring to the battery and ideally fit an isolator. Brit part do a wiring extender kit, any good? or any other reccomendations...

Ok, thanks, the sliders are to replace the steps, which look like they'd get knocked off/bent etc. oh, and I like the look of them! I'll keep an eye on the Guildford thread.
