HI, just bought a Defender 90 300tdi.
Once I've sorted out the plethora of niggles etc on it, I would love to do some green laning.
Not sure quite where to start, how to go about it legally etc.
Any idea of any groups, trips that I might be able to join?
I'm in Hayes Kent.
Thanks.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying, Sunday lunch, kids, wine etc etc.
I live near the Warren Police social club. Thanks for the invite, defo interested, When do you usually go out?
Steve.

You are just down the road from me. Ill let you know if I go out. Usually I go round Eynsford area as there is a few lanes round there.

Ok Bromley is not far from me either, first thing is get yourself a cb xo you can hear whats goin on when laning, l expect the next trip out wil" be fairly soon

I'll put a CB on the shopping list, any reccomendations?
I've ordered some rock sliders, any other bits I might need?
I'd appreciate any tips or advice.
Eynsford sounds great, any idea when you're next going?

To get on round here you will need to make use of the forum search button ;)

The answers to all those questions are not definitive, there is mixed opinions on all topics, those especially. Just read the forum and make your mind up.

And For gods sake don't ask about tyres  :D

Good luck.

I got my cb from a guy in dorking its around £80 for everything youll need, but theres plenty of places to get them, mines a midland and works great, i doubt you will need rock sliders unless your planning to do some extreme off roading, i would get a decent set of tyres first maybe BFG all terrains or mud terrains.
Keep an eye on the guildford lanes thread were going out soon ok

Ok, thanks, the sliders are to replace the steps, which look like they'd get knocked off/bent etc. oh, and I like the look of them!
I'll keep an eye on the Guildford thread.

I maybe doing a quick few lanes next Thursday (17th) night from about 7pm. Nothing too testing but you may get a few scratches as some of the lanes are a bit tight! PM me a number and I'll text you once plans have firmed up a bit... Oh, OS Map 147 & a highlighter pen is a good start ;)
