Hi All I’ve had my 10 plate Freelander 2 sport for 10 years. Never caused me any problems until now. I have a bearing like noise that has gotten worse, still drives perfectly. Brother in law who knows a bit about cars believes it to be the gearbox thread bearing which apparently is a big job...

What year and engine is it? 2010 and Sport LE TD4

Goes into gear but won’t move when releasing clutch and l can feel resistance! Only happens intermittently. Second issue is a very strange whirring noise when driving, sometimes very loud, sometimes quieter. I’m going to get it looked at but just hoping for some pointers before l do! Thanks Cheryl

Sorry! No manual drive

Morning all! freelander 2 sport is intermittently refusing to reverse and sometimes drive. Any ideas before this girl takes it to the garage and is at the mercy of the mechanics Cheryl

Sadly the brakes had already been done two years previously but the garage was adamant they needed doing and when you are driving your children around you don’t take any risks. I won’t use the same garage again but they did come highly recommended!
