    Eas Problems

Having four different part numbers was probably a "by design" factor so that intelligent people like you and I (et al) would not think to swap them over :) Consider also that MANY different auto companies - retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers - supply or are supplied a wide range of...

    Eas Problems

Hi The height sensors on my 1994 Vogue were swappable. I know that because I swapped them as part of my EAS overhaul (approx 3 years ago). I don't have that vehicle now, moved on to a 2000 P38 Vogue. I disassembled a height sensor of about that vintage and found that they were very...

    Eas Problems

Hi FWIW... Check to see if the height sensors can be swapped from side to side. Height sensors on the Classic could be swapped. If yours can be swapped (and still work of course) you will be using a "brand new" (other side of the) height sensor potentiometer. If they are NOT leaking...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Hi If the auto fluid is in a plastic container, create a hole near the top of the container. The hole needs to be JUST big enough to insert some plastic tubing. Insert one end of the plastic tubing into the container (it's best to place the end as close as possible to the bottom of the...

Hevac book icon - any ideas?

Hi I had the book on my HEVAC. Faultmate reported a fault of "left hand blower motor stop mode fault" a rather obtuse error message! I swapped the blower motor relays and checked to see if the error swapped sides. It did! "RIGHT hand blower motor stop mode fault" Installed a new relay...

P38 change from EAS to springs

I am surprised at that, I thought it would be easier for manufacture to have just one type, ah well. Ah yes, force of habit with the name :). I have a Faultmate Extreme multi vehicle. I started with the Rovacom Lite and it paid for itself on the first repair. (On my 1994 Classic EAS). The...

    dse de cat

Hi This will most likely cause a problem with the engine management system. I know that the O2 sensors are monitored, so at the very least you will have O2 sensor errors in the system.

P38 change from EAS to springs

Hi I'd be interested to know just what "they" said needed repairs and the pricing of each item :)

P38 change from EAS to springs

You can swap your sensors from side to side. They then use the "other" side of the sensor. The sensors are (all?) made the same, the variation is really the length of the "rod" that connects it to the RR. There are two potentiometers (like a volume control) with their own wiper inside the...

looking for supplier of HK sub foam surounds

Thanks for the feedback Rasheed. Here in Western Australia there is one speaker repair company, there is another company in Sydney. I emailed the local company support and they suggested I contact the Sydney co. The Sydney co. are the suppliers of the "wrong size" surround. I called a...

looking for supplier of HK sub foam surounds

Hi I am looking for a supplier of the foam surrounds for the dual 6.5" speakers in my HK sub woofer. This is a MY2000 P38 with the Alpine DSP head unit (soon to be changed :)). Here in Australia there is a supplier of generic surrounds. Some P38 owners have used these and are apparently...

Hi Paul I have read with interest the messages about installing a new head unit. I am about to do the same with my P38 (MY2000) it has an Alpine DSP unit with the steering wheel controls. I am very proficient with a soldering iron so anticipate I will not have problems making my own lead...

    No power and misfire/backfire

Hi 8inav Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can try that later today. Yes it did not idle. Thanks for the advice. I saw the eBay items but based on others' comments I considered them to be false economy. I obtained a price of AU$395 from Repco. I discovered though that this price is for a maf...

    No power and misfire/backfire

Hi The engine would not run without the maf. This may have had something to do with any adaptive setting in the ecu. I have not tried it without the maf since cleaning the maf and resetting the adaptive values.

    No power and misfire/backfire

Hi An update. I cleaned the maf sensor (with maf cleaner) that made a difference, although it did not really improve the running, just "different". As IrishRover suggested, I reset the adaptive values. Whoa! THAT made a BIG difference in the way the engine ran! The engine would idle but only...
