Definately, head gasket OK, Cilinder heads have been pressure tested and OK. Advise from ex LR mech, call it a day and sell. It was just a shock, considering 1 carefull owner, me, serviced regurlarly and coud'nt make 100k miles.

Found out today my 2001 Freelander V6 is not worth repairing. Exhaust gases found in water, c head pressure checked OK, so would appear bottom engine problem. 93k miles serviced regurlarly and owned from new. Not the first or so it would seem the last- expensive lesson.
