hahaha that brings back memories of a few years ago when I first changed mine. thought I was doing something wrong cos no way would anyone design a car with a crossmember right underneath a drain plug

don't want to jinx things but had a similar problem couple of weeks ago, replaced the slave cylinder (cos it was leaking) then about 5 days later had your exact symptoms and now in the middle of putting a new clutch in. a couple of the springs in the plate had shat themselves.
