Hi all, got the boot door card off but cannot get the boot to open, any tips on how to open the deadlocked boot ?

Any tips for opening the deadlocked door, can I manually open the latch once I have the door cards off ?

I was hoping you'd weigh in on this one, your posts are always brilliant ! I can hear all the motors going when I press the unlock button, what could cause them all to go at once though ?

Hi guys bit of an update, nothing works from the internal rocker switch (you can hear the internal fusebox clicking. The passenger door will not remote unlock and has to be opened up from the inside but will lock on the fob. And now the drivers door will not lock remotely you have to use the key.

Does any one have any links to the rave software?

I had the same issue on my other discovery but that killed all the doors ? Until parts were replaced

Nope not a thing, will actuate front doors from the rocker switch but nothing happening on the rear, I've known the vehicle for a few years and they've always unlocked but it seems a bit weird for all 3 of them to stop working at once.

Hi guys, I have acquired a d2 td5 that will not unlock both rear doors and the boot. From the inside or outside. It has has had a replacement interior fusebox and a refurbished bcu due to water ingress. Both front doors work fine, unlocking from remote and there are no other bcu related issues...

Go and get yourself a A/c regas from a proper garage, the garage I work at is a stone's throw from halfords and we've never seen one of the top ups from there work, a good garage will also replenish the oil for the compressor and put a leak dye in the system in case of small leaks

Thanks for the suggestions chaps, on another note I’ve just gone out and drained the transfer box to do the rear output shaft seal as that’s leaking and I’ve got 4 litres out of it, is it possible for the gearbox oil to get into the transfer box ?

Hi, whilst it wasn’t a defender, we had exactly the same issue cause a non start on a old Peugeot diesel. Fitted a new pipe and primed the system and it fired right up !

The bolt doesn’t get that corroded it’s just done up FT !

It’s really not a bad removal job, it’s purely getting the old bushes out ! The press did not get the centre one out, had to slot the outer with a hacksaw and then tried again with a press,before cleaning up all the internal surfaces with emery and pushing the new ones in :).
