    The cover plate actually wasn't that bad, its just covered in waxoil, managed to get a replacement from the scrappers of an old V8, done the job. Just waiting on info for my new hub seals and all should be well. Regards Dennis

    If your thinking about screwing the filler plug all the way in to the rear diff housing, then observe the following pictures, it may just save you hitting yourself over the head with a wrench. Rear salisbury axle, note the plug has been ripped out by the diff, stripping the threads, also...

    Thanks for the prompt reply, the pipe I'm replacing is already copper. But the one I've taken off looks like a bubble flare, does this seem right?
