I haven't. It's all been replaced recently so it's nothing on that. I did take the front section off to check to see if the knock was still there and it was.
-
i should have said, i did replace that mount with a silicone one. i completely forgot about that
thanks for the replies, once the old one is out ill dissect it and see what shape its in. Quite scared of looking actually haha. Depending on how bad it is i might rebuild it as its not too...

So its as the title suggests. I think my IRD is almost dead. My car is an 02 td4 with 152000 miles on and it had the original, knackered VCU on it until 142000 miles (When I bought it). The old VCU took the rear diff out with it and now I'm suspecting it did damage to the IRD too.
It didn't...

dont know how much help this will be but im running standard 16 inch freelander alloys with 225 75 16 all terrain toyos. I do have a 2 inch lift with 30mm spacers though, you might be able to run that size without a lift but you'd need spacers or a different wheel offset for sure. My tyres still...

I apologize, im just trying to get all the info i can. Just getting confused about offsets and bearings failing.
-
but the wheels are a negative offset that pushes the wheel further out, why would i need spacers for that? Surely that would put a spacing of 60mm on each side? The car would be getting a lift at the same time so the tops should clear the arches but then im not planning on going too extreme with...

But putting the same size wheels on just with a 30mm offset would be ok? This wouldnt put any more strain on bearings on road but off road when suspension is articulating I can see how it would. So these...

thanks for the reply those look great, just down the road for me too :P just went out of stock though
yeah this is what would worry me, I've found some steels with a 30mm offset they would probably be a better bet to give the bearings a longer life span wouldn't they? I've never experienced a...

oh yes, i knew someone would know. :)

Id like to get some wheel spacers on my freelander, but all the ones i have found are really expensive and i cant face spending that much on them. I noticed someone on an older thread had jeep steel wheels on his freelander (i cant remember who, it was a copper coloured 3 door, really nice and...

im a bit late here but i had a similar problem after putting my engine back in after a clutch change.
I replaced my turbo when the engine was out so i had to take the down pipe off the back of it, when i put it back on it wasn't aligned properly making the exhaust hit on the rear sub frame...

ah, thanks. Couldn't figure it out. So why don't i have one, did land rover change to a different system.

I've had the front bumper off my freelander a lot recently and these wires have always confused me. The one to the left of the intercooler has no power going to it, the one behind the bumper on the other side with the cover is a constant 12v and I haven't managed to test the one near it yet. I...

That's what it was then, didn't even consider the HDC would need a switch in the gearbox. Quite silly on my part. I managed to fix the reverse light wiring. When i pulled the engine i didn't disconnect the wiring for it, (I'd already unplugged one switch so i thought that was it, and plus the...

if you still have trouble ive just finished doing mine. Here is the thread. Before i did mine i had the same symptom. The clutch would stick down sometimes too. It turned out to be the hydraulics.
