    For Sale Series Roamerdrive

Since I never use overdrive I have been thinking about selling it. Just now getting close to 500 miles since it was installed last fall. Bought new from sycrogearboxes October 2020. Located in Finland €1000 but no shipping.

    Safari head lining

On my 88 I had a local upholstery shop sew up my headliner, sun visors and bulkhead cover. They used room darkening curtain material which is very similar to the original. The material came from an upholstery supplier in the UK.

Today I started to install the front headliner. Looks ok. While on a drive we were on an open stretch of road so in 4th & OD we went. Almost made it to 100 . Was surprised that according to my phone GPS speedometer the landy speedo is correct.

The upholstery shop finished sewing the headliners a couple days ago. I started installing the rear first. I forgot to order the correct interior paint for the trim. Tried to get paint locally but nothing matched. Now to the front headliner.

    Series 3 Seat base modification

Front edge I cut from foam but it upside-down. Rear foam and its upside-down also After cutting foam and inserted into opening. Still 3" of foam in middle but only 2" above wood base.

    Series 3 Seat base modification

Angled edge went to the rear of the seat. I used 1/4" aluminum rivets to fasten the metal tray to the wood seat base. I cut the foam so it fit into the opening I cut in the base. The side foam could of been left as is. I decided to cut the side foam 1" so the upholstery would be tight...

I wanted to keep it but it was too far gone to do anything with. The front and rear axles, t-case and 3 speed transmission was the only thing that was useable.

I ran across this picture last week on our computer. While out riding my bike yesterday I got to thinking about the picture and reminiscing about the good old days. I thought about the good times I had with it and how similar the FJ40 and the Series 3 are. They ride, drive the same and the...

    Series 3 Seat base modification

Just an update to this thread. I have drove probably around 300 miles since installing the factory metal seat tray. I love it. The biggest benefit is being able to see out the front without having to bend down. It still retains the full foam so no change there. All the info I could find about...

While installing the seat heater wiring I decided to replace my amp gauge with a volt gauge. Before I can finish the center dash install I will wait for the volt gauge to show up. Now when I install a larger alternator I don't need to tear the dash apart. Took the headliner to the local...

Well I was just beaming with intelligence today. I removed the dash to route the new wiring harness for the seat heaters. While I was in there it popped into my head, why don't I add key on headlights. The other day when looking for toggle switches for the seats I found an on/on 6 pole toggle...

Been looking into about improving the heater. I took my IR gun and the temps at the engine heater outlets are 160°F. The temp at the metal piping is 119°F. The temp at the matrix/core is 89°F. Will start by cleaning everything then replace the control valve and install a circulation pump. Will...

My wife installed the heat pads in the seat bases. The width of the pads fit perfect on the foam but had to cut off about 6" in length. I installed the metal pan on the other base. Now to make a new wiring harness.

Started on the heated seats today. I probably should just put power to the harness as is. That would be easy and for some reason I don't like easy. First mod was to change the switches. Instead of the rocker switches I will be using toggle switches located in the center dash pod. I think it will...
