    Is diesel dead

I think that in the very near future (like next budget) you will see tax on diesel start to rise, and road tax also will go up for diesels. In due course you will have to pay to take a domestic diesel into towns - big towns at first and then smaller. The pressure to get out of diesels will...

    Injector cleaner

Wilkinsons had Redex at a very good price. Probably gone by now, but worth checking if you have one nearby.

    Thoughts on this old V8?

Well, I went and had a look at it on Saturday, and it is certainly interesting. Crawled all over it underneath, tapping with a big bolt, and could find no rust at all. Completely clean underneath, so sure of no rot on the bodywork. No rust on the bulkhead. All 5 doors need work - replacing the...

    Thoughts on this old V8?

I've just spotted a possibility on ebay - nearest 110 I've seen on sale for ages! Personally I'm very fond of that V8, and with carbs it gets you clear of computers!. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282224551068?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I know it costs to run (I've...

Fitting None Land Rover forward facing rear seats

Would it be possible to fit "tilt & slide" front seats, as per a 2 door car, to give access to the rear seats that way?

Not difficult to be a step up from Hamerite - complete rubbish since B&Q bought the brand.

Landyzone on Windows 10 / MS Edge

Peppermint, like you. Slowly working through everything I want it to do, to see what I can get in Linux versions, and what I have to try in WINE or a VM. I'm often using a laptop without internet, so everything possible needs to run stand alone.

Landyzone on Windows 10 / MS Edge

To reduce the amount of tracking you suffer; Run Firefox, and set to delete cookies at the end of the session. Use Duckduckgo or Startpage for searches - both use google, but don't store your info. Unfortunately the main source of tracking is Windows 10 - and you can only turn off some of it. 7...

    Mirrors: Wider, extensions, wing, what?

Makes sense. You can also get mirrors to maunt on the wing to enable you to see forward as if you were sitting RHD. I used one in France once, and it was very handy. Dousn't solve the problem you raised, but does help driving on the "wrong side" of the road.

    Station wagon rear body removal.

Sounds pretty extensive. Perhaps worth considering a galv chassis - you know the steel will only rust again, no matter what you do.

    Mirrors: Wider, extensions, wing, what?

May sound extreme, but what about converting to RHD? Otherwise, a rear view camera could be simple and effective.

    Which caravan?

Frankly, any normal consumer caravan can be towed by a 'fender, providing it is within your licence. A 110 may be a bit easier on the ride than a 90, but both will do the job.

    What's going on ladies

When you're driving a 4x4, and particularly a Defender, you don't get bullied by white van man etc.

    wont start facing uphill

When I had a similar problem on my (petrol) RR, it turned out to be a minute leak in the fuel line. I'm not familiar with the TD5 engine, but I would say you need to park it uphill, and then, after a suitable period, see whether you are getting fuel at the injectors. Another possibility (and...
