I'm guessing he still has the original alloys, if you don't share his 'taste'.

    Other Noooooooo

IIRC newer versions of Chrome have one built in but you have to find it and then jump through hoops to get it working. For those that know what they are doing in windows a neat trick is to redirect traffic to the ad providers in your host file to 127.0.0.1.

Sport Is it a myth or not

Has been going on for ages, particularly French Motors. I had a Citroen Club (cira 1978 iirc), an air cooled flat four, which required a 'special tool' to change the spark plugs.

    4.2 supercharged

Had similar on my XJ4.2, check there are no air leaks on the inlet side. Also they don't like cheap repo O2 sensors.

Mines an XJ, but I gather No8 on the S is also a right pain.

As this thread needs more derailing ... Jaguar advice regarding Nikasil (Used on early X308's) is that if it's not broke currently then you are in the clear. The Nikasil is a very good treatment, unhappily introduced too soon for some parts of Europe. I did the 100K service on my 4.2 n/a V8 a...

What to look for when buying

Only Porche I've ever fancied is the 928. Spotting a connection here some where ;) Oddly I always swore I'd never go the V8 route with the Jags as the I6 is stonkingly good, but I have been impressed with the one n the x350, quiet, refined and pulls like a train.

What to look for when buying

Not a fan of oil burners in general. Although this would be a semi-daily driver my new job is only 20 miles from home so it shouldn't be too much for either variant really. There would be occasional trips to Skye in Scotland (8h+ from Stockport) so long as its well maintained this shouldn't...

What to look for when buying

Thanks for the honest opinion. I had a Rover 3500 for a short in the past and loved that engine, although due to hard usage it went south pretty quickly.

What to look for when buying

In the Jag world we have a chap like Emmots :) I'm reasonable on the spanners, but time is my enemy on thing like heads so a P38 may not be the best choice. Also unless I can find a friendly 4 post lift somewhere I'm getting near the point where rolling on the floor should really be left to...
