I have an annoying air con problem in my Freelander 2 (09 Plate). When the air is humid it blows clouds of condensation (fog/steam) at me through the vents. The drain is clear, the pollen filter is dry, the gas is topped up and the air cools really well. This is OK when it is a hot sunny day...

All sorted now; thanks to all for their advice. The tailgate opens on the key fob, I don't have a dashboard switch (mine's an '09). Removal of the tailgate lining trim is easy; a screw in each of the inside handholds and the trim just pops off the fixings (be brave and give it a good pull!)...

Ah, gotcha, sorry. It opens on the key fob but I don't have a switch on the dash except the lock and unlock ones.

You misunderstand the problem. I can unlock all the doors, including the tailgate, from either the dashboard switch or the key. It's the tailgate latch, not the lock that's the problem.
