Hi everyone :vb-wave: , has anyone got a picture showing the 50mm wider eyebrows on a defender which hasn't got wheel spacers please?
Considering a set of the ones which fix on from the outside but I don't want them to look odd by having wheels which don't completely fill them if you know what...

I'm not getting any overheating problems but I notice that whenever I'm parked up (engine not running) my fan is really tight. You can just about turn it with two hands and a good bit of effort. However when the engine is running it spins properly.
Just wondered whether this is a normal thing...

I have a 19j diesel in mine which is my every day car and I don't really feel the need to change it. I think the purist in me would say keep it original 😊

I know it isn't visually the same but you can get some pretty good heaters that plug into the cig lighter these days

Today I finished replacing my rear shocks and springs - much better 😄

Thanks both. I think a lot of the time it's having the confidence to do it until you ask someone.

Thanks for the reply. That seems to be the way the manual suggests as well but I've seen them the other way round too. I think I will stick with this as you say.
The bracket is just flat, no cups or anything. I've wire brushed it all and put grease all round, so I should be okay to just put...

Hi everyone, I'm reading lots of conflicting advice about the position of the washers on the bottom bushes of the rear shocks on my 90. A lot of pictures on here showing how people have them no longer load either.
I've attached a picture which is how the manual appears to show them - but then...

This is my third year using lanoguard, it's doing a good job for me. I have a galvanised chassis and the first time I sprayed it you could see a patch I'd missed the following year which had a bit of the usual white dust on it.
It seems fine everywhere but I think it's good to do the arches...

Some paints like rustoleum spray cans do take ages to fully set. I remember doing an old Suffolk Punch lawnmower and their paint took a couple of months before it was hardened and unaffected by fuel.

Thanks both, I got my mum to look and when I started up there was white smoke. Then when I reved it up a cloud of white came out. Checked all the pipes and no sign of fuel on them. Also the injector joins look good. Tomorrow I will check the pump. I'm not sure but I think I can hear a slight...

Do you have to mix hardener with your paint? If so maybe try putting a lot less in.
I've painted quite a few old tractors and parts with pretty good success. Sounds like your prep is right. I usually use the air gun to blow dust away, then degrease spraying onto a rag then wiping - don't spray...

Only just started happening, if I'm for example approaching a roundabout in 5th and knock it into neutral the engine cuts out. Other times if I'm going from 5th to 3rd or 4th the revs drop and it almost stalls but when my foot comes back up off the clutch it's okay.
It's very random and...

I changed my gearbox oil which was a horrible colour. Put new in and 2nd gear seems much easier to get into.

As the title really, I have the chance of some cheapish 255/85 r16 tires and wondered whether it would cause problems on my 2.5TD 90?
I currently have 265/75 but with them being 2 inch smaller I'm wondering if I will die through lack of power?
Anyone seen or done this?
Many thanks!
