Thanks for all the help it turned out to be the new part that was faulty,fitted the new part and filled the filter again with fluid and it started right up!

Hey could anyone tell me the capacity of the gm 5 speed auto box? Ive serviced the gearbox with a kit. I followed a guide and filled when cold after changing the filter and sump gasket,then went through all the gears a number of times and got the box up to temperature. So far ive put around 6.7...
