    Flashing cogs of death!

Thank you guys for your response. I've done all of the relevant checks as you've suggested. I am now considering the new wiring harness. I'll give it one last chance! The guy who works for me loves it , and does not want a new one but he may not have a choice.

:violent: The Disco has been struggling with the flashing cogs of death (S & M) for a few months now. I've managed to get it to limp on for a while. I have bought a second hand xyz switch and tried it but no change. I then bought a new xyz switch and a professional Lynz diagnostic kit to...

    cambelt failure

Ciao Dave! Sorry to hear about your bad news. Regarding the cambelt failure and cylinder head damage. We have had two fail in the past on separate vehicles and no serious head damage. The only things we had to replace were the push rods and the rockers. The rockers come as 4 left and 4...

black smoke problems and loss of power!

I had exactly the same problem with my 300. Simple solution: change the air filter. The filter may not look like it needs changing, but it creases along the ribs of the filter and folds in on itself when the turbo starts working hard. If you are unsure about what I am saying, take the air...

    P38 2.5DSE Fuel consumption

RE: P38 DSE I have had the above since it was 3 years old. It has now covered 180,000 miles. On average it does 20mpg- 22mpg. Cold weather makes a big difference to the consumption. In really cold weather we are down to 18mpg. Simple maths, the tank is 90 litres, divided by 4.546 = 19.79...

p38 diesel slow to fire up when cold..help
