    clutch not de-clutching very well.

Having bled it through, there was a little bit of air, it has removed the sluggishness of it. Is there a way to bring the clutch pedal up a bit more, it has the correct push rod in it for the slave, is there a different rod that could be fitted to bring the "bite" further up the pedal travel...

    clutch not de-clutching very well.

Hi all, I have recently had a 3.5 V8 put into my wagon, the power issue has been sorted (choking power), but I have an issue with the clutch now. I think the slave push rod is too short as the clutch pedal is almost all the way down before it disengages, and has been since the engine mod'...

    Choking power.

I took it to RPI Engineering the other day, the engine was still set up for the LDV riot van that it came from. They advanced the timing a few degrees, played with the jets a little bit, fitted Magnacore HT Leads and replaced the electronic ignition amp with a hoofing great one attched to the...

    Choking power.

Not since I have replaced them. I'll have a look over the weekend.

    Choking power.

I had a look at the accelerator cable, it looked ok, the slightest of pedal movement did have an input to the carb linkage. I am thinking of taking it to RPI Engineering for a look, although they do charge a bit for their time. Any other ideas would be most welcome.:blabla:

    Choking power.

I'll have a look tomorrow, that could be the problem as the cable is new too and could need adjusting, it's the overall response of the engine that seems to be lacking with the choke in. Thanks for the reply. :)

    Choking power.

I have a 3.5 ltr Rover V8 on SU carbs fitted to my series 2A. It runs really nicely, but I can only get any power (for overtaking for example) by pulling the choke out. When it's out, there is loads of power, when in, it feels as though its fighting to accelerate. I've got new plugs (with...

LT77 Gearbox into my series 2a Wagon

Thanks for the advice. Take a look at this link, pretty good insight into fitting a 200di into your 2a. I will follow these instructions as soon as I start the conversion. "200Di" diesel conversion for Series Land Rovers - by Glencoyne Engineering

LT77 Gearbox into my series 2a Wagon

I'm looking at changing things around in my wagon. I have an Essex V6 engine that I was going to fit into my wagon but have changed my mind (it's for sale on the forum if anyone wants it). When I get more time, I'm thinking of putting in a 200di conversion and would like to find out if an LT77...

    Series 2a Alternator Upgrade

ok brilliant. Thank you for that. It could still give me a comfortable ride for the first few until the engine gets up to temp while driving normally. I needed to clarify things before I tinkered with fitting the new alternator and wiring. All design first so I got things right.

    Series 2a Alternator Upgrade

Oh and there is no ammeter at all in the circuit, only a battery volt meter.

    Series 2a Alternator Upgrade

Thank you all for your advice. I ask the question as I have an electric heater matrix out of a pug I think and it draws 80 amps when on fully hot. I fabricated a heater box and fan around said heater so when the engine is running and new alternator spinning, there will be instant heat in the...

Diff / rear poleshaft problem - i think!!

Paddocks are really helpful I find. I've had no problems with them at all and the prices are reasonable too.
