Do fuel injectors need to be replaced?

I need to sell the Defender as we're leaving the country. A potential buyer said he thought the fuel injectors needed replacing. Apparently, he could tell this by listening and feeling the exhaust from the pipe. The buyer has not had a Defender before. I was surprised at his 'diagnosis'. Some of...

symptoms requiring rear half-shafts and transfer box replacement,

Thanks for feedback so far. I forgot to say that they found metal particles/shavings/filings in the oil in the rear axle, hence their diagnosis of replacement. It drives fine - economy is the same since I had it. I think there is some slack in the drive chain. I use the transfer most weeks and...

symptoms requiring rear half-shafts and transfer box replacement,

new key needed, old is worn

Thanks. The spare key 'works' but I can sometimes sit for a few minutes jiggling it in the ignition before it will turn. I was also amused on one occasion for it to come out of the ignition without turning off the engine! Maybe some lolly sticks are the answer!

new key needed, old is worn

My good key has been lost, but my spare key is worn badly and so I don't think a new key could be cut from it. Is there a way of getting new keys without having to change the locks? Cheers Ian Defender 2005

    Panel repair or replace?

Thanks for all your advice. Got it done with the help of a local panel beater. Doesn't look too bad! It's important for your car to look good here, or at least shiny! Mick the Builder, as for life in Mongolia...where do I start! Always expect the unexpected. Things usually take ages to get...

    Panel repair or replace?

I had a slide on sheet ice and took out 2 concrete bollards. Any other car and it would be a very different story! See attached pictures. I had the vehicle checked mechanically and structurally and it's ok. But the front wing (LHS and rear panel (behind the wheel) need major repair or...

    Landrover in Mongolia

Hi I live and work in Mongolia and have a 2005 110 300Tdi. A few extras added to survive the harsh conditions. There are a handful of other Landrovers here but haven't connected with them yet.
