110 van rebuilt as 130 dcpu

Hi folks, I'm planning on rebuilding my 1989 110 hard top/van and considering rebuilding as a 130 DCPU or at the very least a 130 single cab. I am not buying a 130 chassis old or new as I need to keep the current vehicle chassis number for vintage reasons. I had intended just rebuilding as a...

    Drum brake squeal

I'm just after putting copper grease on the pivot point and it has stopped the screech for now. In the likely event of it screeching again I'll be changing the shoes. Ferodo was mentioned before.

    Drum brake squeal

Help please. My rear brakes are squealing quite loudly. They are drum brakes and no matter if I have the shoes tight or loose they squeal. I've chamfered the edges of the brake material, sanded the drum and shoes lightly and ensured the leading shoes to the front. They are on a year and have...

    Speedo Drive Gear

Update: I put a 22 tooth drive in and it brought it closer to correct at just 5% over reading. Close enough for me.

    Speedo Drive Gear

Yea that's the math I done too. Apparently there is a formula but needs gear diameter not just number of teeth. But if the gear drives are the same diameter then you are probably right. I'll get the 22 tooth and see what happens.

    Speedo Drive Gear

Was chatting to an engineer buddy who says the same that more teeth should slow down the Speedo bringing it inline with correct speed. There is currently a blue 20tooth in it so will pick up a 21 or 22 tooth. Just trying to figure out which one now. Knowing my luck I'll pick the wrong one. Not...

    Speedo Drive Gear

No worries. I can only find the 4 sizes of gear drive. Blue, red, yellow and green. The wheels are 31x10.50R15 very close to the standard size I think

    Speedo Drive Gear

Hi folks, My speedo is currently out showing 70mph when actually traveling at 60mph on the GPS. Thats 17% over reading. Its been like this for a good while and I had simply marked the speedo with tipex on the speed limits. I had looked into this problem and thought I might have the wrong speedo...

    Defender 200TDI into 19J

All done and running nicely. Had trouble getting the fuel line parts sorted but a local garage that used to dabble in Land Rovers came up trumps with the parts. Ended up using the original TD air filter housing it was simpler to use it than fiddle around with the new one.

    Defender 200TDI into 19J

So I've finally gotten the 200tdi mounted into the 110. Just sorting out the mismatch of fuel pipes and air. I had started to paint bits and pieces from the engine but the paint needed to be sprayed and I just haven't got the time or area to spray paint. So the pulleys, alternator and a few...

    Defender 200TDI into 19J

Thanks for that. I'll keep most of that and do some checking of part numbers to see what else may come in handy. Just ordered my engine crane and paint for the engine might get to do a bit more this weekend.
