    Defender respray in Northern Ireland???

Folks I have approached a few bodywork garages near Belfast (NI) with a view to getting a limited or a full respray of my 1998 90 300 TDi hardtop (rust on bulkhead around vents, corrosion to rear - the usual). Frankly none of them really want to know... It's just getting tired and needs a...

    Oil leaking from hub

I'll have a rattle at it this weekend (before the rugby) and see how I go. It's going in for a full engine overhaul inc timing in a fortnight, but keen to sort prior to or i'll have a full rear diff overhaul on my hands also!!

    Oil leaking from hub

Jai / Sean Thanks for the advice. I'll check the pads also as the amount of oil running down the inner of the alloy is a fair amount, I reckon there will be some contamination. I hadn't thought of that... If doing one side, should I do the other? I may get it checked also.

    Oil leaking from hub

Just spotted oil leaking from my rear left hub. It is gear oil not brake fluid, so suspect seal has gone on axle. Told I have to buy new bearings etc. Is this crap to get me to pay more or fact...???

    30mm or 50mm wheel spacers

I had 30mm spacers with 265 mud terrains on freestyle alloys on a 110. Never had a problem even on trip right through france and back. Just about to put them on my 90.

    Side step dilemma

I milk crate is what i've told the girlfriend she's getting. If I use the milk crate I could step onto the roof of her car, but my foot would go through the roof. I've had the same dilemma. I bought steps for my 110, but have a 90 now and just going to go without. Buy a 90 for offroading...

fuel leaking out of filler cap

I had the same problem with a 110. On the advice of my local landy mechanic I changed the cap and it did nothing to fix it... I put up with it for a while, but sold it to get a 90... Not due to this small problem I may add!! The caps are not a great fit at the best of times. You will find...

    Blown Turbo

Thanks for the advise re the turbo kit. It's a second car (well I drive it more than my Audi as more fun) so can spend the time pulling it apart!

    Blown Turbo

Oh, and loads of smoke under throttle! Nursed it home and grabbed the reliable Audi!

    Blown Turbo

A loss of torque and a distinct whizzing turbo brought me to this conclusion, but I will check! Thanks

    Blown Turbo

Folks I have recently bought a 1998 Land Rover Defender 90 Hardtop and straight away appear to have blown the turbo. The Landy has 143,000 miles and is due a timing belt change. I suspect I should just go ahead with a full engine rebuild as plan to offroad and drive it pretty hard. Has anyone...
