I love this forum!! Disconnected negative on battery, Swapped the interior fuse box for a replacement from eBay (£22), reconnected the negative terminal on battery, Turned the ignition to position 2 for 5 mins, boom ignition works as it should and also the windows all working! success...

Have you checked the water hoses themselves? had this happen on the front of my 1996 D1 years ago and ended up replacing the hoses and it worked.

Seems abit extreme but I’ll bow to your knowledge is that for the windows problem only? many pointers for the starter problem?
