    I love this forum!! Disconnected negative on battery, Swapped the interior fuse box for a replacement from eBay (£22), reconnected the negative terminal on battery, Turned the ignition to position 2 for 5 mins, boom ignition works as it should and also the windows all working! success...

    Have you checked the water hoses themselves? had this happen on the front of my 1996 D1 years ago and ended up replacing the hoses and it worked.

    Ok bcu off some Slight condensation/water droplets on the outside black casing when I removed glove box, I thought of here we go! removed all 5 connectors and all of the ones at the bottom look clean and dry Side connected brown connector had small amount of moisture on the connector itself...

    Further more… I found that none of the electric windows are working, so I had another search and found this thread https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/starter-engages-when-ignition-switched-on.236117/ The floor/carpets are damp and I suspect sunroof leaks which I will be removing headliner...

    Ok… replacement ignition switch fitted and still the same issue… starter and engine firing on position two. whilst I had it all apart I changed the barrel as well and still the same problem. connections underneath the brown plug look fine Any other advice greatly appreciated

    Getting the bug again after picking up the 1999 D2 last week, Ordered an interior removal tool kit off Amazon, ready to remove headliner and full interior as everything soaked. Had a steel winch bumper dropped off by a good lad from marketplace waiting for ignition switch in the post
