Ok an update..... I loaded my tools back in the car earlier sprayed the silicon over the elec parts turned off, locked me front door got back in and turned key nothing... had to go back to the old method gave it a tap with hammer and presto this means its the starter... went to...

Ok your not going to believe this..... after a few choice swear words and grabbing a long shaft and a hammer to may be give it the old fashioned tap to may be unstick the starter just in case and taking the handbook to check the fuses... my neighbout was standing near by so I went to...

I connected the tester to the wire from the loom to the ignition term on solenoide /starter ... turned the key and the voltmeter reads 12v so this would mean theoretically that the conection from the ignition barrel has no fault and that a current is being delivery to the starter...

Hi Folks, well with owning my trusty Freelander just over 2 years got in it this morning and all lights but no ignition start .. battery seems fine but no click no nothing... tried a jump to see if battery .. no change.. reads full charged battery on tester ..connected a wire...

I have just read through this thread, looks like a lot of prep time being applied, so nice to read all the advice thats being offered... So how many vehicles taking part then and Booger it does not state if you are travelling on your own or with passengers yet...

Well I had my 1.8 K series go bang on me 5 days after I bought it, to cut a long story short had the engine rebuilt by a by that races MGZR's and 6000 miles and a 13 months later not a single thing wrong with it since..... so I am happy so far....!

Nice breakdown,,, Got rather fed up looking at it and played around with my MGTF instead and put the door card back on think I will just use the key till it bothers me or drives me nuts which ever comes first....

right will take a look at that in the morning ..., Its still puzzling me but the solutions are much appreciated guys!

Hi Folks,, Yesterday my driver side central locking system decided to quit on me, Here is a desription of the way it stands at present.. on first beep alarm goes off but the door button stays down 2nd beep as per normal all doors are released and pop up except drivers side still...

Ive also a 1.8 es and am very happy with it yes I did have teething probs like had it on the back of an AA transporter after 5 days of owning it well after alot of profanity and and a few quid later and a K series engine fanatic to rebuild her... im loving it ,,, have pics on my profile...

Lol yr kidding.....! It took some working out... ! Its getting the wire to be the exact length (if its broken in the middle ) and knowing where the real should be when its wound in...oh its worth reading instructions twice before you you anything and then its referring to them every...

Hello there, I bought one of those kits last week, my rear mechanism broke at lunchtime ordered and delivered next morning and back on by lunch............ ! Ok so this was only because My window mech. had broken before I had bought the kit and laid it out and oh boy...

Oh ok .... Thats something to bear in mind,,, I bet lots of guys on this site are unaware of this syndrome... thanks for the info... !
