It appeared that the battery was weak. A fully charged battery gets rid of all those symptoms.

Got the part, fitted in and screwed tight - blind mode. All working again. Cheers 🙏

Got it, one wire was cut. Had to to take the tunnel out to manage to see something and reach it.

Thanks for the links, it looks like a right bummer which I pretty much suspected. But I'm pretty sure it is the switch that is dodgy so better dig it out, worth the try as can't take it to MOT with this default. Will let you know how it goes, thanks again.

Dear Defenderers, My reverse light switch has been dead for months, I've been looking at the upfront fuse and it's fine, and tested the bulb and electrical feed, I got no power at all. I've been looking for the switch below the front middle seat, but I can't find it... Could you please help...

After much fiddling, electrical tests, earth points checking, cleaning and all. It ended up being the light relay clicking but not doing its job. I also found out how much custom made electrical has been made (stationary heater, inverter, towing pulley, top light beams, rear light beam and much...

Hi everybody, I had intermittent failures with the headlight during summer, scared me the first time it happened while driving in the mountains and plain dark. But hopefully full beam has always been working, playing with the light switch usually proved something was wrong as I was also loosing...

The dodgy pulley eventually snapped yesterday... Hopefully only a few km away from home. Belt went nuts and ended teared apart. Ordered parts yesterday, got delivered today. All fixed. Didn't remove the fan (couldn't anyway). Sounds smooth again :)
