2003 LR freelander 2.5L KV6, not running properly, stalling... have rechecked timing three times? is there something i could possible be missing through this procedure? any reset of some sort for the engine ...etc?

2003 KV6 2.5 freelander.. Just replaced the headgaskets on my freelander and started it up and it wasn't idoling correct, it was bogging down and trying to stall...??? retimed it to the specifications in the RAVE manual but still acting up?? any suggestions or ideas on this??

Did not mean to offend anybody, just trying to get some extra advice... I don't know anything about engines, mechanics, etc.. I'm worried my mechanic might now either, because there is only one LR dealership in the entire state that I live in and its a long drive away. I'm just trying to learn...

i have tried and tried to get the RAVE file to work, I downloaded it, downloaded the Alcohol120%, I burnt the RAVE file to disc, I still do not have a program to open the file correctly!!! it is driving me mad!! will someone with a bit more computer wits please explain to me what has to be done...

To skim the head, thats the same as filing or sanding it down to where its smooth right? My mechanic claims he can do this?? should i trust him, or is this a complicated procedure??
