Hi, If you can get the motor running before you change them get it really hot I mean hot then they should just lift out with not probs there is a vid on you tube and as the said the guy said they just lift out no probs.

do you have any fuel leaks, you could try a leak back test maybe one or more of the injectors maybe faulty, I had a similar problem plugged Hawkeye in and watched the fuel pressures during cranking, it was very slow to build high pressure and not allowing the ecu to fire the engine, ( needs...

Sounds like an injector over fueling or a miss timed fueling as has happened to a friend of mine with his van it turned out to be an injector an a cam or crank senser can't remember which one but the knock came from the miss timed injector.

replacing the clutch master cylinder is fairly easy to do cost about £50 ish to buy and there is a how to somewhere on this forum, if your clutch bite point pretty low you could maybe try bleeding the clutch first

I too had this sound thought the worse that it was the clutch release bearing, as the clutch bite point was very close to the floor took a chance and replaced the master cylinder 20 min job bled it though. the noise disappeared the bite point bit higher. the noise was where the clutch was...

if you an Android phone or tablet and a blue tooth eobd adapter you can download an app but it may not work on an earlier freelanders, it will not connect to all of the controllers for all faults etc

Hi Have checked your wheel weights are still in place and come off as it sounds like wheel balance to me.

hi yer I could be wrong but I think the senor is intake air temp was fitted to 03 td4 onward only I have a 03 td4 and this doesn't have this either. On the inlet manifold you should have a map sensor. the maf is at back of the engine just after the air filter.

Just a thought is the fuel lift pump making any strange sounds only it sounds just like what happened to mine bloody car let me down eventually when the pump completely packed up cost me a tow home and a lot of ribbing from the misses and brothers.

Is it a td4 ?. If so when you give it more gas does it hold back and the light stay on until you lift of off the gas, sounds like mine did. It turned out to be the lift fuel pump upon reflection it was making a be of a din before the pump packed up all together in the middle of nowhere it cost...

That reminds me of the first egr valve I did a few years ago dog stood in a lump of the black crud then went in doors cost me a new carpet in the front room. Live and learn didn't let the dog out when I did the freelander. Happy days I think the misses has let me off now.

I know it's a bit off subject but how does the motor behave with the Yokohama's are they very noisy.

I have a 03 td4 and use this one I can monitor most of the engine sensors as far as reading codes not sure as I don't have any issues at the moment and I believe if it isn't broke don't fix it so haven't forced any codes up is unplugging something. Android Torque Car ELM/327 OBD2 OBDII...
