Thanks for all your replies... yep it's done a few miles (122k). The front driveshafts have already been replaced so I am confident that those are OK.
I hadn't really thought about a misfire but I guess it's possible. I will take a look into that.

I have had loads of issues with my 52 plate TD4 over the past 6 months. So far the following have been replaced:
Rear diff
VCU + bearings
IRD
Front driveshafts
Tyres + balancing (all 4 at the same time)
Lower engine tie
O/S upper engine mount
Lower suspension arms and bushes

Managed to do it... Had to remove bolt from LH mount and move engine over enough to get the bolt out.

So I was right.... The bolt through the tie bar hits the engine :confused:
Any ideas?

Has anyone replaced the upper RH engine mount on their TD4?
I haven't started the job yet but I don't think there is enough clearance to remove the bolt that goes through the tie-bar. It looks like it will hit the engine before it clears the tie-bar so I am not sure how it comes out.

Ok... bit of an update. The problem with the car is some grinding noise when reversing on full lock (steering wheel to the right) and vibration at 50 - 70mph. The vibration feels like it is coming from the front, can be felt in the footwell and through the pedals.
Decided to replace the NS...
