Welcome.
If you fancy a road trip in it, there is a Saturday LZ Freelander meet-up in the next couple of weeks.
You’ll find the thread ‘sticky’ in the Freelander section 👍
There are a couple of FL owners on here north of the border
À good question, depends on exactly what is going on..
Does the noise get louder when you turn or strain the steering.
Do they do land-rover repairs at the hospital? 😜🤣
Blimey yeah!
I’ve been away and completely forget to keep ignoring!
I think @MGT should come along to the meet-up and explain exactly what we’ve all been ignoring!
Sooo, I think I narrowed my electrical worries down a bit, maybe even to the root cause but that's to early to tell for now.
Got a new battery today, and then did some other testing. Everything is working, including the interior lights...
Bugger. Got a screw today! 3mm so not a total disaster, but the other axle is at 5mm tread..
New tyres will be around 8mm? Do i need to worry about the rolling difference?
I love that color!
Well, I managed to plug the trailer socket. Aparently it s too much to ask for normed cables, e.g. for standardized 13 pin sockets, to adhere to a color scheme. At least the pin usage is common between providers...
Anyway...

I think I finally diagnosed the problem. The solenoid on the starter has practically zero ohms resistance. Order a new starter motor. Old one still works 50,% of the time.
Ok - an update. Garrage said 3 week wait. In the meantime I decided to back probe the 5th pin of the airbag DCU. It was staying above 11.0v on crank, I also ran a wire to it directly from battery via a 5amp fuse to see if that helped but error of...
As you say more protection on rough lanes but I never had any undertrays and no issue ever occurred even with copious amounts of abuse. You could try replacing it with substitute. What about little extra sound dampening under the carpet?
The gearbox under tray mounts to the heat shields either side with 6 Dzus fasteners, I have binned the foam. I will have to see how much noisier it is. Got the sump back on today, 2 of the bolts are fiddly, one bolt hole can hardly be seen due...
Found a bolt about 20 yards away from my car. Odd thing is, the paint colour on it matches my car perfectly. Cannot see a bolt missing from any of the wings, doors or tailgate. Very odd. Of course, it may not be mine but what would be the chances...
