I removed the thermostat and ran the vehicle Rad is now warm all over I left the coolant cap slightly loose.. no overheating and rad hoses are not hard.. Drove 30 minutes No over heating sniff test done and confirms gas leak…😡😡..

Looking at the ecu codes the one that was fitted was from a 4.0 and the other one that I tried is 3.9 I must admit the 3.9 did smell a little less fumey but not had the chance to take it out on the road to test it properly. Compression seems ok...

P38, front side wing indicator lens was cracked and looked a bit shabby. Got a used unit that had green gunk inside it, as I was trying to wash it out the clear lens dropped off the unit. Removing and Replacing the whole unit , which is what is...

I did read somewhere about the idea of the coolant tank being split past way up, coolant drops to that level and no further. I don't think that's the case here though. When i checked the other day and took the cap off the whole area looked dry...

It wasn’t just changed it and hey presto lights out and no air bag warning on dash

The ecu, is it for the 3.5 or 3.9? Have you checked tappet gaps and do you know the condition of the valve heads and seats? 👍

I had a bag in wheel well but it had a hooked chain in there. For towing cut trees around.

If you look in the pic above (left hand side) the gloves and tape that worried him so are in there
