I will give my 2c worth.
The HP24 was never fitted to the diesel, so becareful.
The Transfer boxs are all the same as far as I know.
Now do you have somebody close who you trust to rebuild the box +suppy TC?
Would a secondhand box from a...
It’s not like a straight swap or for the feint of heart.
You don’t have a clutch pedal or associated requirements like master/slave cylinders, cooling for it, electrics all sorts of niggles before you even get to adapting a box to fit. That...
This is my thoughts.
Have you ever tried the ignition key in the glove box? (Probably not, we all don’t ;))
You have never tried the EKA so you don’t know if it’s correct or not?
The fob works so is correct for the BECM to know it. Doesn’t mean...
EKA is just a substitute for the FOB code and becomes an automatic function when it is turned off.
Edit: and the immobiliser is turned off. Turn off EKA and not the immobiliser and if the FOB does not work you are in deep do do.
@marjon So, the way it works. Starting with the car locked, EKA and immobiliser turned on. Unlocking with the FOB, a code is sent to the BECM, if the code is valid, the BECM unlocks the car and prepares to send the remobilisation code which...
My cd player keeps playing up, says no disc when there is, stripped it down twice in my 3 years of ownership and it works again even though I can see nowt wrong through my untrained eye and I haven't adjusted anything. Got a good , apparently...
I seem to remember that, despite the allegedly high standards of police vehicle maintenance, these cars were usually on their third engine by the time they were cast out of service.
Well thats a relief :).
Now you have a few issue that you know now need sorting otherwise it will do it again.
Leave the RF areial unplugged and get working on that door latch, i guess would be first.

Update:
They pushed the car out of the garage and it started to behave normally again. Keyfob works and engine starts. Perhaps an issue with RF interference.
It's now sitting pretty on my drive 😊
I'll have to check if I have the updated RF...
I'd give all the pipes around the engine and heater a good check over, mine have been replaced over the last two years due to age. Far cheaper than a cracked cylinder head👌
Thank you for all you advice and guidance everyone. It turned out to be to be the pipe that goes from the radiator to the expansion tank, so all fixed! For now 😅
thats amazing! thank you! Yeah, hoping to do as much as I can, and I've been blown away by kind and helpful everyone is on here, so I'm sure I'll be asking many a question : )
Manuals here that will help apart from engine and other mods different on the lightweight

I would try not to farm out too much work as you will miss out on the learning and understanding of how bits work best...
He had a lot going on in life last we spoke. Not good stuff either. Not exactly the type to flounce is he but we all need a break from time to time. I have tried to contact him few times previously with no response
Or he’s still mad at Broke...
Looks straightforward enough to DIY to me. Looking closer at it...it doesn't look unfeasible to remove the leather and use that as a template to cut and sew on new stuff. Plenty of saddlers in Shropshire would probably have the gear and skills to...
Given what you’ve learned through this experience I doubt you’ll struggle with a lockout again, aslong as your micro switches stay good (they take decades to go).
Just don’t go using superlock feature, ever
