Yes 100%. I also bought a second hand binacle but programming to the car seems even more problematic than repairing the old... just trying to work out what company to go with!
Any reviews about their service ?
Seems a large variation in prices between the 2 of them. £250 is not a lot for a competent company's technology & time these days .. I had the alphanumeric ribbon (no instruments) replaced on my old 5 series...
In (what I thought was a genius move) bought it as it's ULEZ exempt! (unlike my old mazda bongo!) well. done. me! But, just realising that the money I'm probably/ excitedly going to spend on it is going to out weigh that! not. so. well. done...
So its finally flagged a fault this morning, 3-4th gear change, town speed slow pickup and while it changes if you remove or add throttle the gearchange is successful, exactly the same symptoms and actions as it did 60k miles ago when i first got...
If you want a professional job I'd recommend Royal Steering Wheels in Aylesbury. Had a Saab 9-5 steering wheel done by them and was amazing finish.
Bit of a trek but could post as an option. Or I pass by that way often and could LRFerry for you.
You have others why not measure them?
Try a motorcycle panel rubber thingy, or many other car makers they all seem to use them. They sure as hell dont make them in house so most peeps will use the same...
Well it doesn't break the bank. I've read it would be better to replace both front latches. I'm glad there is an alternative to the original land rover ones that are quite expensive. If somebody can point me in the right direction for a lhd MG...
Thanks for the telling us, you have a result. We all come across something new everyday.
So is the BECM set to RHD or LHD woud be the next question, and should you change it to avoid future issues?
Now you can love it again :D.

As we speak the car is out of the alarm state and can be started!
First I want to thank everybody who chimed in with information and sharing their experiences.
Now the solution I hear you think.
So all the drivers door latch tests returned...
Look what I've got hold of!
Wood is good, leather is damaged and the wrong colour but I've ordered a repair kit so see how that pans out as I've never done it before.
You should have can bus errors relating to the clocks in the cars memory to do with coms.
Classic solder points or chip failure. The discos suffer from this also. Resulting in none start and hazards flashing😬
Can bus error is when communication between the steering sensor and it's counter part aren't talking or haven't in the past. Is code active /sporadic or history?
Check on live data while turning the wheel and check the sensors readings in...
Feel like I’ve been stuck in a time warp 🤔 all men now, and being Piercys no doubt a handful.
I’m okay bud. I’ve had enough Landys to know broken but functional is good enough 👍 Dog is fine and he keeps me in check
I'll check my NRVs. I didn't think they were that bad when I re O ringed the whole thing not much more than a year ago. Getting difficult to get new NRVs now isn't it? If @kurtjohnson10 has run out, then we're stuffed! Just to be clear, it's...
Hi,
I'm new on the forum. Just wanted to say hi.
I'm living in Belgium. I love land/range rovers.
I currently own a 90, a 110 (oldies before they were named defenders) and a range rover p38.
I try to keep my cars running by doing...
Welcome :).
Got any pics, we like pics:).
For tech questions you are better off asking in the RR section, but 5 mins is not really a test. Does it drop overnight?
Have you read any codes?
You usually dont hear leaks until its too late and on...
