It was easy for me cos I was using a 4 post lift but unless you're very very skinny I doubt you'd get under it. Maybe jacking it up and using axle stands is an option.

Hmmm. Modulation is a tad high but I would expect problems starting hot rather than cold. Problems starting cold sounds more like glow-plugs or in-tank pump. I posted up a spreadsheet with a trace from mine somewhere. Or PM me your email address...

It is on nanocom. I seem to recall it's not on the same screen as modulation which is a faff, a minor faff but a faff nevertheless.

You can see the EDC engine temperature on Nanocom, not sure which screen as I do not have one.

Turns out the offside axle seal was well worn & it clearly had a gap around the half-shaft. Nearside as better but still not sealing well. Both bearing housings had loads of rust inside, so clearly water had been getting in there. LR-CAT...
