Hi Madmustang Thank you for that insight. Mine is a 1.8 engine. 2002, I have been quoted £764 for a new turbo repaired over a 4 weeks period Labour including £650 to remove and fit the turbo. £320 incl a battery. Breather Filters and service. Total £980. Is this reasonable.total £1774

What is the average cost to remove and replace a new turbo and how long should this take.

My normal Machanic did exactly what was suggested although he told the AA man to do the same. The turbo went but at least I did not go and purchase another engine. Love this forum
