True. Transmission readings are a nightmare. Few Freelanders I've saw on rolling roads have actually ended up having less torque as the rear wheels would occasionally drag and so on.

Two diesel variants, both mechanically identical. 115ps, and 135ps. Both generate same 300nm or 220 foot pounds of torque. None vnt turbo, much smaller turbo actually is same used on the Renault 1.5 dci engines. Compate it to a td4 or L series and it looks miniscule. My own 75 is throwing out...

I don't understand why the freelanders get such low power out of a vnt turbo with decent sized wheel, decent exhaust system, better injectors, intake and intercooler setup that 75s (which have a much small turbo) yet they will throw out 150 to 155 mafless all day long.

Swapped for a bunch of rover 75 parts so not so bad. Have a zt hand brake grip and gear knob that I want to try and get to work on the freelander next.

Following on, small but essential mod bought and fitted. Full leather steering wheel, with controls. Sadly don't work with my budget radio but nice to have for the future. Then it was brake pad time and I had a clean nightmare. One of the carrier to caliper bolts snapped in half, 2 hours...

I can assure you that my mafless 75 does significantly more than 30mpg.... The 160 rover 75 map was made by a bunch of guys on the 75 forums. It's designed for different injectors, turbos, exhaust diameters all sorts. And people seem to get mixed opinions on its efficiency. A mafless remap...
