I have just bought one of these today as I am a mechanic and i need it for basic fault finding, i wanted to try it on my Land Rover Discovery TD5 as we've been having a few issues with it and when I plug it in the OBDII socket and turn on the ignition the scanner tries to find the on board...

Hey there My First TD5 had that problem it was the rear diff, you should jack it up and take the rear diff back plate off and have a look at the crown wheel for cracks etc as this may need replacing, also take a look at the U.J. coupling and pinions on the prop-shaft, our TD5 had two diffs...

Right guys took it to two different garages both diagnostic machines showed nothing, this seems to becoming more frustrating now as for the small filter in the union that is on the old TDI engines NOT the TD5 according to the guy at the garage, the guy did say either the blockage has cleared...

I've checked and all is well the pipes were replaced about six weeks ago, this seems to be a pressure problem i still haven't got round to checking the small filter in the union will do that tomorrow and i'll let you know the outcomes of it however i think we're gonna take it to a 4X4 specialist...

Yeah thats what happened last Wednesday whenthe return pipe came loose i thought that was the end of it, obviously not as its coming from the main feed ( fuel pump now ) :(
