-6C this morning; the engine started at first key.

I have a V6 recon VCU mounted on my 1.8 FL working fine for some years; the guy which sold it told me that they fit.

I did what I described on 3 door. two times; only one works now;
last time, with all the new mechanism, it did not seem to me that the speed of lifting the window was an ideal one; towards the end it was becoming increasingly difficult to lift.
there may be rust/swellings underneath the window...

the problem of door windows is a known one;those mechanisms break, the plastic at the ends break , the cable jumps from the channels on which it should walk, locking the window in various positions; all because of the excessive forces that appear in the system.
let me tell you my case; first I...

yes, editing the title .. well hidden, I have posted on forums but I have never found editing the title so well hidden
what's great is that i have this problem since i have a car .. about 10 years. now that I have solved it .. I will get a new car :)

Problem solved. :)
I waited a little for the cold to come, lately it was warm in the mornings; today I had some ice on the car and with an infrared thermometer around -0.5 in the thermostat area; started at the first key; ever since I changed the sensor, with the cold engine, always started at...

I received the correct sensor. I tested it (while mixing) on water + ice mixture and gives 6.9K ohm (5.5K the brown one) , so uses a thermistor with other characteristics.
The supreme test will be next morning, with the sensor attached on ECM's plug

Freelander 1.8 K Series Engine
I tested yesterday the oil and water sensor at the ECM plug end, on cold engine... so the resistances are different...supposing that the oil sensor it's the defult black MEK100170;
in actual config..with brown sensor..ECM thinks that water temperature it's hotter...

assuming that the plug it's the fabrication one :)
RAVE RAVE...my vin it's 1A...so I need MEK100170L...which is labeled water/oil temperature
I ordered now FACET 7.3272 since it's equiv to MEK100170L, and I'll return the new brown version, purchased after the one which what was fitted years...

I did the tension/voltage measurement and it's fine. 5V when the circuit is open and when I attach the 9k ohm resistor I have 4.3V; it is not short to gnd or 12V on the wires or on the installed sensor .
but take a look at how the plug and sensor look. they do not match; someone carved the...

found on a russian forum..
some guy needed to replace his coolant temp blue sensor MEK100130L with a equiv one..but instead finds an equiv to MEK100060L...YCB100420 . another it tells him that..ok..try that...but take care...if you notice "cold start" problems..it may not be good.
In any case...

yeah, but how to do that since I cannot touch the metal aroud the connected plug :)
well, I'll do the test with an external resistor replacing the ECS with ignition on II.
rave shows 2 sensors for my FL 1A, one brown MEK100060L..which I found already on my car (don't know if the stock was...

found a nice article for checking Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT)
I neglected the tensions
Usually the chip gets resistance by measuring the voltages. If there is an electrical problem, the voltage used by the EMC (5V) to test the resistance could be changed and would measure other...

yes. Facet 7.3248
maybe it is someting else working wrong...and putting that fake resistor forced the motor to start as if it was colder...with more fuel+air
if I think at the past...from last winters...there were an interval..under 10C to -2-5C degree when it doesn't start at first key..but...
