Just for anybody having problems with theres..... i have now sorted this and it was the chain inside the transfer box it had stretched, got a second hand unit off ebay for £245 and got it fitted for £90....Good as new !

Sounds to me like the viscous coupling unit within the transfer box has seized. But then again you just mention it doing it when turning to the left, what about if you turn to the right ?
Yes i had same problem, called spigot rings there are some on ebay mate

Just need to know, is it possible for me to get inside the transfer box and replace the chain without taking the whole box of the gearbox ?

What is it like swapping the transfer box ? Is it too heavy to do with out lifting equipment if there is two of us ?
